On behalf of READY NWI, the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board, and the Works Council, we invite you to the College Acceleration Network (CAN) Summer Institute on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. at Hobart High School, 2211 E. 10th Street-Hobart, Indiana.
This professional development session will provide you with important and valuable information on college and career readiness. You’ll hear from a panel of employers who will address job opportunities and the skills needed to fill those positions. In addition, we’ve secured Dr. David Conley as a guest speaker! Dr. Conley is a national leader in defining and promoting college and career readiness. He is CEO of the Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) and a professor at the University of Oregon. Conley is the author of College Knowledge and College and Career Readiness-Helping All Students Succeed Beyond High School.
This no-cost event is relevant for counselors, secondary schools administrators and principals, higher education leaders, adult education and workforce development professionals. A light breakfast and lunch will be served, compliments of College Board.
Deadline date to register is June 13th and space is limited. Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
