Come step into spring with the Hammond Academy for the Performing Arts
Bridging arts and sciences
Hammond Academy for the Performing Arts will host a performance combining arts and science for their next production entitled, “Steppin’ Into Spring: Where Dance Meets Science.”
They will celebrate science through dance and will have Hammond Schools participate in a science exhibition before each dance performance. The idea was presented to them during a recent visit to The Museum of Science and Industry. In their performance each piece in Act II of the concert will be based off an exhibit they saw during their museum visit. The goal is to bridge arts and sciences--bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to the community.
The show will take place Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 at the Morton High School Auditorium, 6915 Grand Avenue in Hammond. Exhibits will be shown from 6:00-7:00pm followed by a dance concert from 7:00-9:00pm. For further information, call (219) 989-7316, ext. 1866.
